At the jog, Jazz demonstrated much improved behavior
and did not try to remove anyone’s head with his usual high spirits.
He trotted up sound and much more sedately than he had in his youth. Donna
(and the judges) were all quite relieved not to have to fear for their own
safety. In the ring, he was also quite the professional, once again coming
in third and, importantly, getting a score over 64% from French Olympic judge
J.P Routier.
Making his debut at the rain soaked show was Al Gordon on his Hannoverian
mare Winnica. Al put in steady training level tests, improving his scores
and placings every day. By the end of the show, Al was heard to remark, “This
dressage stuff is WAY harder than it looks!”
